Hi all,

Myself and a group of friends are staying in a cottage near Richmond this weekend and are looking for some fun activities for the Saturday / Sunday.

It's not just all the lads together this time as the other halves are coming too, and one couple even have a pair of ankle-biters, so we're looking for some ideas that everyone can more or less get involved in.

My preference would be something motoring related that the women and children could have fun err.. watching.. However ideas that might include everyone would be great also to show I wasn't a completely selfish oaf. I'll try and angle the general sentiment away from them though obviously.

Cheers,

Chris

My car needs cleaning. You could wash that while your family observes. Sound good?

An Elise? I think not.

However, while you've got your sponge out a mate of mine has a 111R that sh@t it's oil all over itself and a French Autoroute last Saturday. That needs a DAMN good clean...

PS - `Myself and a group of friends` doesn't read Family to me. Are you sure you're not from Lancashire?

Sorry, old chap. I was being slightly flippant. Was meant entirely in jest. I'm afraid I know of no automotive themed pursuits in the Yorkshire area this weekend.

And for the record, I'm not from Yorkshire, but have been domiciled here for 7 years. Your implication regarding Lancastrian heritage is hurtful, though.

Guess I'll have to clean the Elise myself...

No problem, as was I smile

Although as a Yorkshireman myself the Lancastrian jibe was indeed intended to be hurtful. I'm just glad you're not from Yorkshire originally or you'd be heading north A1 right now, frothing at the wheel!

Good to have some banter on a Wednesday afternoon. My diary's actually clear on Sunday so I'd love to have something car-related to do. Haven't seen any live racing since October last year - it's driving me crazy!

Wish I had the kudos of being from Yorkshire, but unfortunately (is this worse than Lancashire?!) I was born in Chester.

Haha! I was thinking there were a few perfectly good burgers going to waste there too.. Wouldn't it be great if they did a sketch where one of his `victims` was one of those hungry characters from sesame street who's mouth hinges from the back of their heads. It'd be like shooting basketball hoops!

Diggerland is a possible - is it any good?
