My Sister is heading up north in 2 weeks and is bringing her husband, who thinks that the north is a cold dark place that is best avoided! I want to recommend a top Hotel, so this myth can be dispelled.
Any suggestions as to THE best Hotel in the Leeds/Harrogate area?

TBH, if I knew someone who was that far stuck in the dark ages, I'd sleep them in a tent in the garden.

Another vote for Oulton, it's lovely! Not too far over to Harrogate either

Get em in at The Majestic - worth it for the vintage bogs alone! No faffing around with taxis either if you want a night out in town.

There are loads of nice hotels in the area. Woodlands (in leeds but out of city) is one of the best IMO. Very good service there too. It maybe not of interest to them but the car parking is excellent. Nice big county house secured carpark with plenty of space. No parking ding worries.

My hotel choices seem to depend massivly on the type of car park offered hence we very rarely stay in City centre hotels.

I hope this helps

If they want to be in the City, then 42 The Calls, only if they can have one of the two suites on the top floor though, the other rooms are a little small.
If they can be out of the City, a little, then definitely Woodlands.

If you'd like to show them some "Greenery" then I'll throw The Devonshire into the choice list, it isn't overly high-end, but offers a nice mix of traditional country inn with modern/smart food and features.

Angel at Hetton; only if they're impressed by fine dining.

At the risk of being banished, having stayed at Hotel Du Vin in Harrogate, have to say it's nothing special. For drinks and food it's reasonable, but the hotel itself is nothing to write home about.
