Chaps,

The opening round of the FIA GT Championship takes place at Silverstone on Monday 4th May 2009. Unfortunately, my other half is working and my dad's being dragged to a gig somewhere so I'm going it alone. If anyone would like to join me, I have a spare seat in the Elise leaving Leeds at about 7.00am. If you buy me breakfast, the seat is yours! If there are a few folk up for it, we could convoy from somewhere if preferable.

Cheers,

Andy

Hiya buddy. Yeah, I was up at Malton with a few of the other Lotus guys - good day out.

I'm also very excited about the GTs - always a great event. I haven't checked out an entry list, but with Donington's troubles my racing season has been destroyed before it's even started. I'll keep an eye open for you, get her out of bed sharp-ish!

I'm planning to go depending on my work rota, but should get the day off. The event is the 1st to 3rd though isn't it? I will be going from Nottingham so could certainly meet somewhere on the M1, maybe Leicester Forest East and convoy down with you if you want. Just drop me an email smile

Yeah, scrap that - it's Sunday 3rd. I should learn how to read properly! I'll drop you an email before the event, a convoy would be sweet.

I'll just be doing Sunday, dude. Let me know if you're heading down, we'll do some convoy. Hope the GT1 entry is half-decent this year.

It's usually a good turnout both on track and with all the supercars turning up in the car parks! Will see what dates I'm working and post when I know smile

Yeah, there was a Ferrari 288GTO Evoluzione the other year. Last time I saw one of those was at the Galleria in Maranello about 15 years ago.

Were you there in the fog last year? I've got some crazy photos of cars diappearing into the gloom in the middle of the day!

This year's entry looks OK actually; plenty of Saleens and Corvettes and the GTR will be a welcome addition. I hope the new GT1 Ford GT is present too.

I've managed to fill the space in my car now so anyone else who fancies a convoy, let me know.

I'll be down there on Friday to see the Supercars in action and it's always a great opportunity to see the cars for free!

Quick update from me!
I finally got my May rota very late yesterday and I'm not working on Sunday!
I will probably have a mate coming down with me so we won't be setting off stupidly early smile
Is the Leicester Forest East or Donnington Services idea still a go-er and if so, what time shall we meet up there?

I'm leaving 4pm from outside the office in town, expect to be down Whittlebury about 6pm if the Friday evening traffic is ok.
