Where to go? (Help a Southerner...)
Discussion
My lovely lady is travelling up the country, taking her Mum to visit Granna this weekend and needs some ideas for a day out. They don't need an event as such, more of a location.
Granna is 97 and not particularly mobile so paintballing etc is out, but I understand they've been for a drive out to Osmotherley in the past and she enjoyed that. Granna is near Easingwold so anywhere a shortish drive away where they can see the sights, get an icecream or a cuppa from the comfort of the car would be great. Tartan rug/boiled sweets type stuff.
Many thanks for any suggestions.

Pickering is a nice market town, quite busy though, a bit further on is Thornton le Dale small village with a stream and tea shops. From either of these places you can drive over the North Yorkshire moors to Whitby or Drop into Goathland (where Heartbeat was filmed) or drive round Dalby Forest trail with a picnic.
Cheers,
Simon.

Tourist bus around York in the morning, then as said above the Yorkshire moors.
Get the NYMR from Pickering and you can alight at Goathland for a wander then back on the train.
