Hi guys,

Well sort of anyway. I was on the commute today from Sheff to Leeds, joined the M1 at J33 and just after the 50 mph zone the car in front was all over the road. I kept a distance and followed for a short while. The driver was swerving quite violently across all lanes, he was straddling the fast and middle lane, he was slowing down and speeding up and generally looked as though he was bladdered. Anyway, it got to about jct 36 and it was still really bad so I phoned the cops... They were helpful and very glad that I had rung them, I gave the cars details/reg plate etc and they said they would pass it onto W. Yorks Police. From jct 36 to 42 I saw several cops cars on the hard shoulder with their lights on but they didn't make chase, there was even one car a few cars ahead of the pisshead and it came off at the next junction. Maybe it is me but why didn't they do anything about it?! He was clearly a danger to everyone on the roads, he had cut up a lot of cars and I was worried to say the least how he would fair in the start/stop rush hour traffic. Well I followed him into central Leeds and saw no action from the cops..
Why didn't they stop him? Maybe they had bigger fish to fry? Maybe it would have been dangerous to stop him? I thought drink driving was against the law??
I personally found it extremely annoying as it was so so obvious he'd had one too many the night before, and they didn't do anything about it and he could have so easily caused an crash or even run someone over once in Leeds centre. Plus it seems many people are stopped for using the phone/similar offences whereas this pretty serious incident was overlooked....

Oh I don't know these days!

Anyone found this was the case? Anyone got any success stories?

Cheers
Adam

There was an old woman on the Ring Road last night driving her Golf. Straddling the dual carriageway, clipping kerbs, cutting people up.
I don't think she was drunk though, probably just old and blind. I thought about calling about her as she was a danger to herself and everyone else but I was driving and don't have hands free so I'd probably get done for using a phone while driving.

My sister's been driving legally for donkeys years but her insurance ran out on a Friday night at midnight and she renewed it the following day from mid-day but she'd already got a ticket for driving without insurance at 10am. Has to go to court for sentencing next month. It's easy money for them.

Good to see they've caught an uninsured driver.
