On my way to the nursery this morning, traffic in one direction was being kept clear by 4 police bikes so that 2 police cars, 2 Range Rovers and a prisoner transport van had a clear run through the traffic and no chance of any unsuspected hold ups. All backed up by the chopper overhead. This was coming through Cross Gates on the Ring Road.

I hope it was some Mr Big rather than the local scally on his way to LBA for his taxpayer funded holiday.

They've been stopping Traffic on Westgate in Wakefield for the past week to let a convoy out of the prison. Wonder if this is the same one?

I wondered the same this afternoon, with Leeds city centre full of police and the helicopter out. It was all quiet again by 3:30.

That one was for a shooting in Chapeltown (saw it on the news this evening). Some guy got shot in the leg.

I work near the courts in Leeds sometimes and that performance is repeated most mornings around eight o'clock. There's probably a list somewhere of who is on trial but unless you know what they are accused of that's not much use.

A bit of googling reveals a list of who is appearing in court (plus some censored entries ?) but nothing I recognise.

Dolan? Don't know who he is but that's the only one on trial for what looks like something serious.
The Yaqoob brothers are on trial for mortgage fraud (One was a govenor at Armley) so doubt they deserve such a convoy

What's he "up for"?

See this going on regulary, must cost a bleedin fortune - why cant they just go in an unmarked police car chained to a couple of rossers & save us all a packet.

Totally agree.

Always easy to spend OTHER people's money....ask an MP. irked

IF they were to try to escape, better to shoot the buggers and save us even more money.

I work overlooking the courts and they have had the police helicopter out all week to escort the convey out of leeds. Seems a bit of overkill, although it would be amazin to watch someone trying to jack the convey in Leeds city centre!!
