Good luck Dave
Snetterton just a bit far for the day for me, especially as it is my wedding anniversary,
so if I wasn't around to take my wife out, I could be in danger opf loosing my wedding tackle!!!
Let us know how you get on (preferably with pics)
and also when any closer races are planned
Cheers

Thanks John, absolutely correct. I qualified 18th from the 29 starters and finished 13th in the first race and 11th in the second race. I was a bit disappointed with the lap times and was over-driving the car a bit trying to maintain the corner speeds as I was a bit slower than the other cars around me.

DH's unique line around Russel Bend (and I've dropped the cars behind, they're not lapping me!)

Same line, different lap

A good line with an Escort style leg in the air, a bit.
In the post event weigh-in, the car was 60kg over so we've a bit of room for improvement and I drove the car that won the first race today and it feels a hell of a lot quicker than mine so we need to put the car on a diet and see if we can squeeze a bit more power out of it. Difficult as you have to use all standard parts so we can only tweek the timing or rebuild the engine with new rings if it's down on compression.
Next event is Sunday 27th September at Mallory Park which is near Leicester, so not exactly local but not too far.
If anyone else fancies a go, we have the car that won race 1 and came second in race 2 on Saturday available for hire at a very reasonable rate. It's a well sorted car and somehow it seems to have a load of grunt. PM me if you're interested. We can do anything from just a day hire to a full arrive and drive package with the entries, fuel and tyres included. Sorry if that's construed as blatant advertising. I'll remove that bit if it offends.

Here's the winner. Leading a rather annoyed pack on his MR2 debut.

Well done for your first outing Dave
Looks like too much Rally Escort type cornering going on there
Would have come to the Mallory event as go there quite a bit but
have a TVR event at The Piece Hall in Halifax that date and then
am down to do a trackday on the 28th at Cadwell as well
All the best
Cheers
