I'm planning on heading over to York on Saturday 19th Sep for a few drink as I'm into real Ale. Might even stagger around the walls! Anyone like minded on the subject?

Details Here

P.S. Burriana, they also do warm Lager apparently! hehe

Oooh that's interesting. Most years we go to york for the food and drink festival on that day. 2 week fest, part of which is the "ale trail". basically you get a stamp in all 12 pubs on the trail, then you get a naff tee-shirt at the end of it. If you're from York you can do it at your leisure, but of course we do it all in a day then end up at a random cheezy club proudly displaying the fact we've killed a good number of braincells that day biggrin

The addition of a dedicated beer festival means it could become PARTICULARLY messy!

on a vaguely smimilar note, my brother and dad are both visiting this weekend (my wife and mother also present) and I fancied taking them on the Masham tour.

Anyone know if you have to book in advance tours of Theakstons/BlackSheep?

Don't forget, the Beer Festival is part of the much wider Food and Drink Festival over a week and a half.

Saturday 19th has the Whisky Festival which is amazing value at £15 (hope Eddie isn't reading this) - just take it steady and have a chaperone to help guide you home.

And Yorkshire Chillies are available on the stalls in Parliament Street - fresh and very local.

Plus much more. Its just a shame the beer is out of the way down at the Knavesmire.
