Tockwith Track was good fun - smaller cars
Discussion
We took our Caterham Hire business along to Minster FM's Raceday at Tockwith just outside York.
Simon of Tockwith racing has built a small track but we had a blast in our Caterham Supersports for about 15 mins and had great fun. They're usually for self drive hire in the Yorkshire scenery but it did get us thinking.
Couple of links here. I won't post the embarrasing "fast in, very slow out" first corner one. Was also in our new Gulf livery Supersport with superlight R bits. Nice car - lousy driver (me!).
My wife wasn't that impressed with my driving "Scott - behave!!" can be heard on the video.

The chap driving the yellow supersport is Paul who Owns Ecurie 25 Supercar club in Leeds and he loved the Caterhams. We'll be doing something with his members next year we hope.
Paul had been out in his 430 spider and found it a bit short but seems like a laugh for Caterham type cars.
Don't know what Simon's thoughts are for availability. A blast for an hr would be fine though we were the only cars on it for 15 mins.

Was on Look North/Calendar earlier, a feature about the young lady (daughter of owner?) who is about to win the Ginetta Juniors.
Tracks looks ideal for my car. Still not got round to tracking it - really must do and something small, local relatively and easy is just what I want for my first track experience.
Be great if they could start running club events.

I wouldnt mind doing this - not sure my exhaust would pass though .. would I get my money back if I was too noisy ?
If your car is the one in your profile then I'd be surprised if you have any problem. Maybe give them a call to ask about booking provisionally subject to the noise test on the day ?I've had my car (V8 Vantage) tested twice recently (at Bedford and Oulton Park) and it has been 89.something both times. I run the standard exhaust.

I was told that they won't give you your money back if you turn up and don't pass the noise test. Depends how they feel on the day I guess. I booked on an Elvington day with them when I first got the Elise and it didn't pass the noise test, thankfully they let me do Cadwell instead, but I think it was only because I live a couple of miles away from the organisers.Best bet is to find someone with a noise tester before you book Paul, they do it 1 metre away from the exhaust at 3/4 of full revs I think.
