Hi guys,

I am organising a super/sports car meet in the gorgeous Peak District near Sheffield in the new year as it's about time we had a meet in this area as there is some really lovely scenery and some very nice cars in the locality. It's early days but I have already had some great interest, even bearing in mind the time of year. If this goes well, I hope it can be a more regular thing as the weather improves.

The plan would be to park up, talk cars with fellow petrolheads and drool over the cars on show. We could have a drink and some pub grub and then possibly head out for a short blast in the peak district before everyone goes their separate ways.

The venue has space for 50 cars max so please let me know either on here or via PM if you would be interested in joining us? I will inform you of the location via email as I was trying to keep the event more low key as parking is restricted to 40 cars and I can imagine that enough passersby will be drawn in as it is.

As mentioned above the event is on the 17/01/10 from 10am.

I will email you the location nearer the time, however mail me on here for more details.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Cheers
Adam

Are the first people on the list PHers Adam? Might be an idea if they are to pop the user names on too so people know who is going. If they see mates or people they know, you might get a bit more interest. Just a thought.

Thanks for your reply. Are you be tempted to join us?
The first people on the list are just friends and friends of friends and I don't think they are on PH. I have spoken to E25 who will hopefully bring some exotica down, maybe even their new LP560 Spyder and Scott is bringing one possibly two or the Roadsporthire Caterhams!

I understand I am one of the 111Rs. Looking forward to it mate. Especially if there is Autosport International to look forward to the day before. Good skills on the organisation.

Sounds like fun - we're in with the Caterhams. Good opportunity to "scrub" the new tyres for the new season. Good work Adam. Will be nice to catch up with Paul of E25 - thought his toys would be in hibernation smile

I wont be able to make it with the F355 then as its on show there. May still come and have a look though in the Veranti if its not sold.

Keep your eye out Adam if you pass Millbrooke in Sheffield again next week. The my car is going in for its biggie service! Engine out out and cambelts done etc.

Giving the show a miss this year. I've had my fill of Terry "Bleedin" Grant doing world record wheel changes on a spinning car. May well be up for the Hope Valley get together though. Is it the same pub where they have the annual Hope Motor Club meet in June?

Hi Paul

Glad you're not hibernating. Hope also you get the Lambo along. We have customers all through November The Gulf car's been out a fair bit and it doesn't even have a heater - they're all barking mad, in a good way. I'm taking it off cover for Nov though.

Bit surreal cleaning the cars in darkness! Neighbours don't appreciate the power jet at 7am!

Cars have been out last two glorious days. I'm taking a day off tomorrow for a run - bet it pi$$es down smile

Cheers

Scott.

Jonty, I feel for you mate.

I had a 348ts with an Ansa system and had to do the big service. £2200 bill and not too much was wrong with the car. The worst of it was that I said to the specialist that he could take his time on it for a reduction in the rate but I'd need a car meanwhile.

He sold Porsche and Ferrari so I really fancied an old 911 or a 944 as a runaround. What did I get for two months? A bloody Daewoo Matiz. I'd love to finish the story by saying that it wasn't to bad or it was good fun, but it was pants!

Having said all that, my 14 months (car longevity record) of Ferrari ownership was great fun and I don't regret a moment. Will go back sometime and probably 355. Much better and my preference to the "modern" ones.

Jonty - meant to say also to get some pics of the engine when it's out - work of art and I did some photoshop on mine into monachrome and it looks like a sculpture (well, to a petrolhead at least).

Hi Scot, glad you are keeping busy. We have had a good month of new members signing so we should finish the year off way ahead of plan!

Do you know anyone that would like to buy an Ariel Atom 3. It is brand new and has a 300 hp upgrade plus loads of other "improvements". We are looking after it for a member who bought it last week but does not want to keep it? If I thought it would fit in to the club fleet I would buy it myself - absolutely awesome. Looking for around £45k - it has a list of £49.5 with all the extra's. I have picture and full spec if anyone wants to drop me a line.

See you soon - pop over to Wakefield anytime to have a look at the fleet and will take you for a spin in Lp560.

Paul

Hi Scott, yeah its a real pain, but only a few months early for the big service. Going to get lots of pictures though. Especially when they've painted the cam covers nice and red again before it goes back in the car!

If you're interested in getting a 355 and if its next year then let me know, as the wife wants a bigger house, and she's not far off getting some decals made up saying 'House Deposit' on it. Will still get something fun, but still not sure what I can get for half the Ferraris budget?
