On Friday I was stuck in traffic for about 10 minutes while various police bikes blocked off sections of the A650 so a marked Vectra, X5 and Range Rover could escort one of those prison vans along at speed.

My OH spotted the same convoy a couple of days before and then again tonight in the Middleton area.

Makes sense to ferry people on different roads I guess but it doesn't half draw attention to them smile

I can't see anything in the local news but I'm guessing it's someone fairly major to get that sort of escort?

Happens surprisingly frequently as seen a few. Would be impossible to guess because any gang related case would probably warrant a bit of an escort.

does happen often. I work in the big glass building at the end of park lane and always see them pulling onto the ringroad going towards the motorway.

With some very high profile villans they never take the same route and travels miles out of their way. The big boys will always have the helicopter with them as well.

Spotted the convoy again this morning, actually saw the helicopter above the M62 first but then noticed them all going over a bridge above me between East Ardsley and Thorpe on the Hill. By the time I got to work they were just passing over again down Wakefield Rd into Leeds.

I was discussing this with my OH the other night, they are really close! Do you think they might be using one of those radar based cruise control systems or do they just rely on the guy at the front not braking too hard?

Impressive either way.

Seems a bit OTT for a couple of fraudsters but a nice find all the same, they should have taken them down the canal in a canoe smile
