I'm contractually obliged to set off in about 45mins from Leeds to my mothers in huddersfield.

There's a reasonable amount of snow up our way (Rothwell) and no idea what it's like out on the roads.

Is it OK or shall I stay at home??

It should be fine, I came home from work at about half one and it was ok - traffic flowing at around 40mph. I dont think its snowed again since then has it?

Ill be going to work the same way again tonight so I hope so!

Hang on half one am/pm?

It's definitely snowed overnight and this morning.

Hope you made it ok, the motorway was fine all morning, but Rothwell/Woodlesford was a nightmare!

Have a browse around the traffic cameras. Looks clear to me: http://trafficcameras.mxdata.co.uk/web/cameras.asp...

You could always also use real time data from the highway agency

http://www.trafficengland.com/motorwayflow.aspx

Motorway fraffic flow / Disruption search

If you tick the 'traffic cameras' option you can also view the web cam / road conditions from there

Map view has been in my favourites for years. I just like view from people who have actually driven on it as back up.
