-13 yikes

On the way to York this morning Around 7.30 just past Wilberfoss.
Noticed it was rolling down quite quick on the cars computer. Was -9 at Dunnington.

There was a bank of freezing fog which didn't help.

-14 last night just outside Penrith, only got to -12 this morning, -2 at scotch corner felt decidedly warm !

We passed Tuscan on the A66 at lunchtime, very brave ! Someone a mile or so in front of us tried using the snowy outside lane and stuck his repmobile through a snowbank and half way across a field.

Thought for the day : Why are the windscreen washers on modern cars fking useless as soon as they freeze.

My X-type doesn't have it! irked Must have the cheaper version!! I thought all modern cars had heated windscreen washer nozzles....obviously not!

Anyway I've been mostly using my 15 yr old 993 C4 with winter tyres in the snow this week and it's been fine! smile

It's the winter pack on the X i think. Heated screen, heated mirrors and heated seats. I would be using the turbo but my tyres are at the point where winter becomes interesting but yet not quite ready for changing as they'll still do another summer. If I'm feeling flush I'll pick up a spare set of wheels and winters for it next year.
