I notice that Javellin trackdays are running some trackdays this year at Tockwith near York. I understand that this is a newly opened track venue, with a new test track seperate to the existing karting and skid pan areas.

Have any PH's seen/driven the Tockwith test track? if so what is the track layout, runoffs areas and track surface like??

Cheers

I heard they were redeveloping part of tockwith. Might have a ride up there in the week for a nosey as I work in wetherby quite a lot. Noise limit is apparently 102 but my guess is that will come down drastically due tothe proximity of the housing estate up there.

Just been on their website and it's 1.25 miles long according to Javelin. Heard some decent reports about the new tarmac, pondering weather to book this or Barkston Heath? (not in yorkshire I know but similar distance for me) and good value by the looks.

Barkston is a bit pants TBH unless your taking something disposable to use on the drift circuit.

I've also been thinking about this too.

There are a couple of videos on youtube but they show you very little of the track other than it makes Cadwell look as spacious as Donington.

Hi There

We had our Caterhams on there at the Minster FM rceday. Might have had more done to it since. While it was fun for a few laps it's probably not track day material IMHO. Good as a test facility for his Ginettas and credit for creating it, but a bit small and samey otherwise.

Youtube vid of our run here:

I wouldnt book a track day there - not big enough and little room for error/other drivers

From the video it looks like it would be a great venue for running a sprint competition.

Regarding trackday usage, it certainly looks like overtaking might be a bit interesting...

I think I'll give Javellin a call and see what format they intend to run in terms of number of cars on track at once, etc.

I've received an email newsletter from Javelin today and it says

"The February event will have 3 groups of just 10 cars running in 20 minute sessions. One of these groups will be for Lightwieght and Single Seater style cars. the other 2 will be split by experience"

So 10 cars on track maximum.
