you should try 'Brio's' in 'The Lite' shopping centre smack in the middle of Leeds, open until late and there's underground parking too! Italian, never had a bad meal there in years of going

There are NO Leeds City Centre restaurants with their own parking. It's gonna be roadside parking eg. No.3 York Place, The Calls Brasserie (free after 6pm) or NCP pay parking eg. above Bibis. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and in all honesty, Leeds city centre seems to be lacking in quality food establishments at the present time following the loss of all Michelin starred restaurants over recent years, (Rascasse, Guellers, No.3, Pool Court etc.). Anthony's was good (former El Bulli protoge) but they've spread themselves very thin with satellite eateries in the Victoria Quarter, Flannels department store and the old (and dead) Corn Exchange. IMHO I think the most consistantly good quality food is being served at The Foundry Wine Bar on Water Lane, (just over the river from the city centre). The atmosphere is always great, the ambiance is relaxed, unpretentious yet quite classy, prices are reasonable and Phil and the gang are genuinely funny and entertaining hosts, (they must have a sense of humour since they're all Leeds United fans!). Don't let that put you off though. The restaurant is a big favourite with the local Yorkshire TV/Film people too.

Thanks for the tip on the The Foundry, somewhere I've never heard of but having browsed their site it's now on the "to try soon" list. Cheers.

Hi Haven't been there before, looks good, what is the carpark like that they use? Reason for this question is the car is tres low, and dont do bumpy NCP's or ramps into Multi stories...

I've been for a couple of meals at the City Inn recently and have been impressed with the food and the prices, just watch out for the drinks, they can easily change a £20 per person set menu into a £50 per person treat.

http://www.cityinn.com/leeds/leeds-hotels.htm

Parking is good, fairly secure (chap on guard and CCTV) and flat (and free) in the hotel car park under the Leeds "dark arches" - just follow the signs to the hotel and then pop into reception to say you want to eat there, they will lift the car park barrier for you.

Parking for the Foundry is roadside outside the Cross Keys pub. Should be safe enough as its a "no trouble" pub. The Cross Keys itself is a nice pub for pre & post dinner cocktails. Alternatively, there is a flat gravel parking area on Globe Road (opposite the Cross Keys). Not ideal I know, but I've parked some really nice cars there and never had any trouble. Enjoy. Tell Phil the Manc Scum supporter from Christies sent you!

If you're going to the Foundry, there is parking in front of the Round Foundry Media Centre. Open air, but tarmac, illuminated.

I used to work at the media centre and have a sneaking suspicion that the owner has a 360 as there used to be parked in front of the bar every now and then. If you give them a call they may let you park right out front if its a nice car.

I would also add that Sous Le Nez in Leeds city centre has been consistantly good over the past few years.

A bit off topic (as there's no parking outside) but has anyone got comments on Chino Latino?

Sous le nez is a great restaurant. If you go get the Crème Brule for dessert!

Though nothing wrong with bibi's either...
