Looking for a recommendation for a suspension guru in Leeds or Bradford. I want a check over & proper 4 wheel alignment done after any necessary repairs.

I used Track Torque in Tockwith last year for the old car and they were great, honest guys, knew what they were doing and I was very happy with the work. But, they're a bit far from me (Pudsey) and while they were good, the hourly rate was a bit high to justify the distance.

Anyone got any recommendations? It's an Alfa 147 by the way, so nothing Earth shattering but I'd like it to be done right. smile

Not sure about being a suspension Guru, but with the background he has, you should try ringing Andy Turner in armley mate. Right on my doorstep

National Tyres in Bradford get a guy in to do it and he's brilliant.
He uses their ramps, but all the gear is his.
Well recommended, but you need to book well in advance.

Are they any good though? I've tried ringing them endless times now, no one ever seems to answer the phone!

No idea, but the Hunters are supposed to be the best piece of kit.

Try Track Torque Racing at Tockwith they seem to have a good reputation, not in Leeds though.

Thanks, but I know that already - which is why I sang their praises in my original post. wink

Only one way to find out! They charge about £80, which includes any adjustments.

A place in Horsforth has got some decent reviews, cant remenber the name of it though! I want to have mine done in the near future so will you let us know how it goes wherever you take it?

Use Metcalf Autos in Sherburn-In-Elmet.

Paul there has history in track preping BMW's and i know looks after a members E30 M3.

I've used them for odd bits and found them excellent.

Thanks.

I did some reading up a while back and the hunter machines seem to be "the daddy", but I would rather go somewhere thats tried and tested.

http://www.simoncgreen.co.uk/ is this the place in horsforth? Picking up the tyres for my summer wheels tonight, so will probably be paying simon green a visit next week to get everything aligned. They were reccomended to me by someone over on detailing world

The Hunter machines are the best - but as said - its down to the operative!

I got my car setup by Tony Bones at WIM - who is pretty much regarded as the 'daddy' in this area. But its the other end of the country.

I do know however that he has a number of places dotted about the country who he reccomends as knowing their stuff - places with hunter laser alignment machines that actually know what there doing.

They have a forum - worth asking on there who he reccomends in the Leeds area. google 'wheels in motion'.

Don't think there is anywhere in Leeds that WIM recommends at the moment but Tony is arranging partners and you will be able to buy tyres and geometry on line and have it carried out at a more local centre.

The roll out is being staggered though so all 100 or so centres won't all open at the same time, so there might not be one near Leeds for a while.

Did you take your car down to Hemel Snotrag? Or was it done before you bought it.

Tony will be able to alter the setup from standard if you have had the suspension lowered etc.

Andy - I would second Andy Turner and he is nice and local in Kirkstall/Armley

He has full 4 wheel alignment and sets up a lot of stock car racers
and indeed was World Champion himself in his own prepared car

Also has a decent hourly rate, looks after mine and several other TVRs
and is an all round good guy to boot

Give him a call and have a chat on 0113 278 4003 or 07771 767854
Mention my name and you will get all sorts of abuse!!!! LOL

HTH

Cheers
Richard

He's based in kirkstall, pretty much round the back of morrisons on the same industrial estate as tasker and lacey.

The address is:
Wyther Lane Industrial Estate
Wyther Lane
LS5 3BT

I was quoted between £40-£60 for a full 4 wheel alignment, dependant on if theres any seized nuts etc
