A Smart Repairer should be able to sort the wheel and the tyre wall/rim protector doesn't look too bad from the pics. I'd get it checked by a good indy, preferably one that doesn't just want to sell you tyres for tyres sake...

the wheels want re-furbing as all 4 are kerbed.
I have kind of resided myself that I'll need a new tyre and therefore need 2 as dont want to run different tread depths on the same axle.

Erm.....no! Tyres keep you on the road, worth the risk?? Dont forget I might be coming the other way.

I'd replace that tyre, no question. Then lower the curbs near my drive.

Definitely illegal and probably unsafe.

eek Unlucky mate! You must have caught that on something sharp though???? Curbs round here just rub mine. Ouch!

These things happen, Ive done it and I was having my wheels refurbed when we went to york. Lucky I had the smaller spare set thumbup

You could get an indy to look at it but Falken 225/45/ZR18's are about £90-100 each so, if it were me, id replace it straight away. If you really want to keep even tread on each side then replace both - you could always sell the other tyre on ebay if its got decent tread on it or save it as a spare. Not sure if the 350z's have a spare wheel??

I'd worry more about the wheel as a really good refurb on all 4 wheels is costly. Im skint now.biglaugh

I got my wheels re-furbed and powder coated at The Wheel Specialist in Garforth last year for £200 which was great - but price now is £400 :-(

From my experience, the finish from these chaps does not last long!

Try Metal Magic in Barnsley for the wheels re-furbing. Up to 17" wheels are £35 inc Vat I have been reliably informed. 18" are £45 and so on.

Think they charge an extra £5 a wheel to remove the tyre and refit with a balance as well. Did my mates Lotus wheels and a look really good.
