As there are roadworks of the worst kind there for weeks on end - 30 limit, temp lights to get out of phase with those at Crockey Hill etc - work on until September.......
1 mile queue @ 06.50 this morning northbound. Leaving York southbound at 17.30 seemed impossible - endless standing traffic.
Not many alternative routes either.

Thanks for the tip off. Have you considered cutting across to the B1222 and coming in via Stillingfleet/Naburn? Alternatively, come in through Elvington (which is more of a detour) but both roads have fun bits to recommend them...

Cheers,
Tom

Saw the signs for this at the weekend.....note to self - must remember to avoid the A19 when going to York!! Rat runs via North Duffield, Bubwith, Elvington, Sutton e.t.c. will be busier than usual....great roads though! wink

Hello all - I`m local so know the B road options - getting busy already...
Couple of other tips - leaving York on the B1222 to Naburn - speed gun at the bottom of the hill where the flyover crosses the bypass, just before the stupid bus pullout from the Designer centre, also rarely in Stillingfleet ~ 80 yds into 30 limit - hides behind hedge.
Watch out near the riding school in Naburn - came round that blind bend to find 2 12 yr olds on horses side by side doing 2mph.
