Anyone know Sheffield city centre well?
Discussion
I could do with some help / advice about where to park in Sheffield.
I am taking my kids to a concert at the City Hall tomorrow afternoon. I have had a look and there are loads of car parks in the area.
The nearest looks to be near the John Lewis or are there any better places to park.
Sorry for inane question, but I am going to be cutting it fine to get there in time and the wife will give me a load of abuse if we miss any of the show!
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
John Lewis is the best place to park as it is bang across the road from the City Hall, it's the cheapest and it's undercover. However, it depends how long you are staying....as it is a shop car park it closes earlier than normal car parks (about 6:00). But there are loads of car parks around there on all sides. If you have a sat nav head for Calver Street. There is parking on the street and a car park. And again it's bang across from the City Hall.
Hope that helps.
Regards
David

I once say De La Soul at a club and some lads came out the concert to see their NCP had shut up and their car was locked inside. God knows what happened but you need to be careful. How about parking at Meadowhall and getting a tram? I can give you more directions if required but do you have to park really close?
John Lewis is a good car park - but does close early - and the spaces are very very tight.
What car are you taking? Anythign fancy?
There is a council car park right behind the city hall on carver street- opposite walkabout and to one side of a bar called crystal. Sound horrible but I always park there when i'm going to city hall or anywhere in that area.
I think its free after 8pm as well.
If all else fails I live about 8 quid in a taxi up the parkway. Your more than free to park on our road and grab a taxi if you need to, but i'd just go for the car park on Carver street.

I think if you're going to either the City Hall, Lyceum or Crucible you can get discounted parking in their underground car park. It's just off Arundle Gate and I think you have to take your ticket in to be stamped or something.
However I could be dead wrong, I know it works for the theatre's not sure about the City Hall.
This might help too
