I could have sworn I saw a spit yesterday over Helmsley flying very low. I would have passed it off as one of the turbo prop trainers as it was in the distance except for the fact that it was accompanied by a biplane and had that merlin rumble.

Was I dreaming?

Along the same sort of topic, I thought I spotted a Lancaster flying over the Pennines last night. Was over Holme Moss way, flying North West. At first I thought it was just a passenger plane heading towards Manchester, but I saw it bank a little bit and it's profile looked just like a Lancaster. It was quite a way off though, so I could be mistaken.

Anybody else spot it?

full 2010 flying schedule

May be of more interest

Other planes of interest are possibly en route to Waddington for this weekend's show. They'll have been arriving for a couple of days in advance.

You could well have done.

There is more than just the BBMF spitfires, in fact a majority you will see wont be.

I know there's one flying over Beverley this aft for the armed forces day.
Will be flying over Brantingham later on route.
