Anyone fancy a convoy down to see the ultimate in Drag Racing?
If you have ventured to York and enjoyed it then this will blow you away.

I am thinking of a day trip, either the Saturday or the sunday, Entry tickets can be bought in advance £27 or on the gate £32 , but when I have gone I have always pre purchased the grandstand seats as they sell out early, pre-purchasing ensures a good spot and seats together for the group.

I usually choose row R the back row (you can stand up to view without upsetting anyone) and as close to the startline as we can get.

If you have not expirienced a Top Fuel Car launching, you will be amazed! it should be on every petrolhead's list of things to do.
The FIA Finals attract the top European teams, with up to the minute technology. You are free to wander around the pits to see the work done between races. The engineering of these machines is fascinating and can be seen close up.

If we get a list of names, I will collect the Grandstand seat money (£8 each) to pre purchase seats together, (leaving individuals to sort out entry tickets) Or I can collect seat and entrance fees to get all the tickets in advance (buying together means only one booking fee)

Add your names if you are interested and if you want to just pre book a Grandstand Seat (Seat) or a seat and entry ticket (Both)

We'll be at the Pod from early Thursday morning. We should be on the bank most of the weekend along with Matt Moxon and fair few other PH'ers and ex Dragsterworld members.

BTW... Real drag racing fans sit on the bank. Grandstands are for day trippers. Those lamposts just get in the way if you're viewing from the left hand side and there's no atmosphere up there compared to the bank. I've been to top drag racing facilities all over the world and there's still nowhere to watch a drag race from that can match the bank at SPR.

Which is why I'll be trackside at various points and at various vantage points along the bank with the camera

Oh well, I'll just have to sit with all the other pretend drag race fans and some of my mates who between us have over 35 years of drag race marshalling.

It's LMS at Silverstone that weekend as well. If my friend in Bucks is around then, I might do Saturday at Santa Pod then Sunday at Silverstone and stay with him. Really enjoyed our last trip down there.

Lack of interest and the possibility of me having to be elsewhere means I will not proceed with this. I would like to get down for the meet but it will have to be on the fly.
