very odd accident - m62 eastbound, goole exit
Discussion
One of those on my way to work this morning. Small escort/astra type van on it's side (looked like it'd been on it's roof). Dead straight bit of road with hedges at both sides before meeting M62 at Rothwell/Wakefield exit.
I wondered how they had managed that on a straight bit of road.
Maybe it's BRAKE faking some "accidents" to stop the rollback of scameras?

Junction 36 I am thinking of which is the goole turn off I think? they park at the top of teh slip roads either side.
I work in Hull a couple of times a week but dont usualy have to get there early in the morning.
They were there last week(westbound slip) which is a real pain because that stretch of motorway is empty mid mornin/afternoon so even though I set my cruise control I automatically creep over when there are empty lanes in front of me.
Do you look in your mirrors for police when you go past a motorway slip road? because at twice a week to Hull thats four times I go past those slips roads and I see them there at least once every week I would say mybe its teh 40k miles a year I do mostly up and down the 62 which makes it feel like I see them all the time.
You have been warned

I always though it was my lightening reactions on the brakes that has saved me. They are probably asleep
there are a few hiding they places they like on teh M62 west of the M18 a few bridges have little roads next to them (blind side) which they park in east and west bound. Also west bound there is a point where the hard shoulder goes really wide at the beginging of it they can reverse back a bit and are invisible as you approach.

As the police like to park on that slip road perhaps he looked in his rear view mirror and dived on teh brakes like I do every time
At Goole? Blimey, lived here for nearly 7 years and I've never seen them parked there yet!
Thing is, if your speed is 'sufficiently greater than their acceleration', they apparently can't get a clock on you before the J37 exit
