twice this week I've had the pleasure of twiddling my thumbs whilst sat stationary on the m18 - took 3 hrs to get home on tuesday!

both times this was due to a lorry crashing through the central reservation, closing the motorway in both directions.

I wouldn't mind so much but they've only recently finished with the roadworks needed to put up the concrete barriers to stop this occuring.

the tuesday incident was def. an impact on the concrete section as there's a steel repair section there now.not sure about todays (jn2) as I haven't been that far down for a while.

I take it these new barriers are ste then?

The one at (M18) J2 yesterday was an armco sectioned stretch - in fairness a bit of unreinforced concrete is hardly going to stop a 40t juggernaut if it wallops it at 60mph at a steep angle.

There's a new section going in from jcts 3 to 4 starting in Sept as well, so expect delays if you use that bit.
