Hi all,

I wonder if you could help me; Does anyone know of a decent 5 star hotel/country hall in South Yorks or the Peak District? I have spent some time on google but it's really hard to tell what they're like unless you've been there, so any help/advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Does not look like there is a 5* in South Yorkshire according to the website above.

The other halfs mother works at http://www.fischers-baslowhall.co.uk/ it's where alot of movie stars stay when they are filming in the Peaks.

i've not stayed there as it's well out of my price range

Not my particular area of expertise but you could have a look at Aston Hall near Sheffield. Wrong side for the peaks but not too shabby. Not sure about the star rating either.

I'm no movie star but I've eaten and stayed there a few times. It is excellent.

I don't think its an hotel, I was there a few weeks ago for a wedding and the wedding party stopped at Kenwood Hall, even the bride and groom

Aston Hall is a bit up it's own a*re, and the company is now in administration.

Although lacking in 5* hotels, there's plenty of decent places. Peacock or East Lodge @ Rowsley might be worth looking at, both very close to Chatsworth and serve excellent food. +1 for Fischers also.
