Car has been in. Broken ball joint hanging on by one bolt

Quoted £400 for new tyres, balljoint and re-alignment, but, they are worried sub-frame may be damaged/bent and are saying it could cost me a further £1500.......

Seems unlikely as I kerbed the car and the tyre and wheel were barely damaged... but even so, £1500???
