New gatso stainbeck road North Leeds?
Discussion
Just a heads up for people.
Theres a sneeky new speed camera been put up on Stainbeck Road (i think its new, dont remember seeing it before?). Will be quite easy to get caught out as its a decievingly steep hill.
Theres loads of turn offs and its always busy, so last thing you want to be doing it watching your speedo....
Its not got a camera on it yet but the signs are up, post is there and the lines on the road. Looks like it'll be a Truvelo.

more worrying is that most of the Meanwood Road is 30mph now, having been 40 for years.
most of the taxis still do 50, but it won't be long before the police start to sit on the 30 section with handheld guns.
I really don't mind it being 30mph, inner city is not for speeding, especially when about 5 mins away you have wonderful Yorkshire open roads.

Be careful of the stretch of ring road between Sainburys round about and the BP garage round about (heading from Sainsbusrys to Shadwell), that stretch has been 70mph for years and has just been reduced to 40mph, no reason for this, there are no new schools been built, it is still a dual carriageway with a metal central barrier which according to the highway code should be 70mph!!!
3 people have just received a driving ban for doing 70mph there, now it has been reduced to 40mph, doing the national speed limit is well over the limit and is a court appearance

Aye this is quite worrying as most people fail to spot how it goes from 40 back into a 30 at the crossroads on meanwood road. Had plenty of people right up my backside thinking its still a 40.most of the taxis still do 50, but it won't be long before the police start to sit on the 30 section with handheld guns.

To be fair, it switched to a 40 zone quite a while ago and before then there were a few different spots with bunches of flowers so im guessing a few people got knocked over/killed. Theres enough 40 signs for people to realise the speed limit has changed but it could do with a big 40 sign as soon as you cross the roundabout3 people have just received a driving ban for doing 70mph there, now it has been reduced to 40mph, doing the national speed limit is well over the limit and is a court appearance
Was gutted when they changed that stretch of road from 70 to 40. I use the stretch frequently and it was great for testing the loud pedal. I've seen loads of peeps pulled over on the eastbound side. The police hide on the turn off/slip road next to the football field. Never seen them on the other side.
However, as said, i can see why they did it. You get alot of people crossing the road and they've now installed a proper crossing.
