With all this snow and grit going down on the roads and nearly 1000 miles in the last couple of weeks my car is positivley filthy. I usually wash it every week but due to the several inches of snow in our car park/forecort (I live on a road a small flats in a cul-de-sac) and one of my neighbours who complains when I wash my car in the dry (apparently its against the rules) and several elderly neighbours I don't want to break their hips with the ice rink I will create washing my car where I usually do.

I cannot leave the puma in her current state though as the salt will not do the arches any good at all! So I want to take it to a hand car wash. My OH used those big green ones with sponge bob on their signs and I wasn't impressed in the slightest.

So who do you suggest? How much do they charge? And where will I find them?

Cheers

ETA: Yes yes yes I fked up my spelling in the title. recommended*

Only one I know of (as not from your neck of the woods) is the one on the Seacroft roundabout. Guy from work used to get his mercedes done there and was always happy. But that's not to say they did a good job wink

Why not find a good jet washer at a garage and do it yourself?

I've done that before and it was st. lol. Too short (althoug I paid for the longest time) and didn't get the car clean. I suppose it would get the worse off though.

The one on the Otley road just before the Lawnswood Arms is pretty good. It's the only one that's ever opened the doors to clean the sills. The One on the Tesco Roundabout in Whinmoor, (Seacroft is further down the road), is ok but I find that they miss some bits.

Yeah, I've been using the seacroft or roseville ones. Didnt realise there was one on otley road so I'll give it a go next time. The pork is absolutely black with filth to the point that I actually get dirty jeans when I'm getting in it at the moment.

There was a feature on 5th gear a while back, where a pro from detailing world polished up 3 astras to the same level and ran them through diff wash methods. The automated wash place came out top as it inflicted less damage to the paintwork.

I use the car wash on meanwood road to clean the winter hack as the paints already mullered on it. Plus its only £1.70 for the standard wash

Well, sorry to make this a worhtless thread but seeing as the snow cleared this weekend I spent 2.5 hours on saturday cleaning and polishing the puma. Happy with the result smile.

The Poles on Kirkstall Road don't do a bad job. I used to go quite often, but if you're the pedantic type, you'll probably want to do it yourself. I had four cars to clean on Sunday. Very boring and they'll only stay clean for five minutes.
