Just a quick heads up to say the speed limit on this stretch has been droppped
from 40 to 30mph.

Been set at 40 for years, don't get caught by the speed cameras!

Yeah, tell me about it, only realized this morning, apparently been there since monday. The signs are utter crap. Don't know how fast i've been going mon to wed, but I'm hoping those cameras haven't been re calibrated yet thats for sure.

The 'new speed limit in force' sign coming out of bradford is facing the wrong way after odsal top roundabout, so it's not obvious at all.

Typical council crap.

Have they taken down the 40 repeaters yet?

When I came out of Brighouse on Monday, I got:

30 start, 40 repeater, 30 'speed camera' sign, then the actual speed camera, 40 repeater, 30 'speed camera' sign, then another actual speed camera..... wobble

Between Wyke and Bailiff Bridge is the set of traffic lights commonly known as hell fire corner where over the years many fatal accidents have occured, in the space of 60 years they have not improved or done anything to make this crossroads safer except put some speed cameras up to earn money. The council that has this area on its books should be brought to the courts and sued for every accident that has occured here perhaps then they might do something to make it safer.

I got caught doing 31MPH. The following day I made sure I was doing less than 30 and set my speed at 28MPH. 3 of us were all travelling together at the same speed. The first 2 vehicles were flashed but I wasn't. The day after that I went through the lights at 28MPH and another car was travelling at the same speed behind me. I got through but the following car was flashed. They are a joke. I doubt if they have been calibrated properly and the tragedy is you have no comback. Now all the cars are going through the village putting women and children at greater risk of being injured on the narrow roads. What a laugh.

Dont worry you've not been caught. They have been set at 31mph but with no film in for a 3-4 week period before they put film in and re set them to 34ish mph (prosicuting those going over 36mph). The logic is that with them going off at 31mph everyone will be aware of the drop in speed limit from 40mph. I imagine its making a lot of people who think they've been caught angry & now everyone is doing a steady 28mph!

The first scamera coming from baliff bridge towards wyke has disappeared now!? confused

I know a couple of people who've been flashed, so if that missing film thing is true then thats good, still a bit harsh flashing everything that moves and letting them worry for a couple of weeks though, but I suppose it will get their attention!

Hello All,
I have driven up and down A641 in Wyke yesterday and today at 40mph withut realising the speed limit had been changed to 30mph. Has anyone been issued a speeding ticket yet?
The cameras did not flash- so I am confused. Please help with my query.
Thanks

Is there any update with the camera situation in wyke? As I have just travelled the whole length from odsal top to hudds did not see any signs at all till the wyke lion pub and was doing 40mph, has anyone received a ticket? How many cameras are on there? Any help would be appreciated

Hi
It's 30mph all the way from Bradford now. Between odsal top and the wyke lion going towards hudds there are three cameras two gatsos and one forward facing.

I went through that area a couple of weeks ago, my snooper told me it was a 40 mph zone so I got a shock when the jag in front of me got flashed as did he no doubt,- we were travelling the same speed. Needless to say I got on the anchors pdq!
When i came back that way I realised they must have dropped the limit.

They replaced the first one after the Wyke lion (towards Bradford) with a forward facing truvello. I think the Gatso went faulty as I got flashed three times at 25mph! I never got anything though the post, It'd been funny if I had

Thanks for the replies can only hope they had no film in or were out of order, never flashed or if it did I never noticed it was mid day though.

The forward facing one nearest the wyke lion, dose it not monitor both sides? There are lines both sides?

On all of the Truvelo (Facing you) cameras along the A641, the lines go all the way across the road, but the loop sensors appear to be only on "your" side of the road as you approach them.

Although I've never tried passing them on the wrong side of the road to make sure they don't work......
