hi guys.

can you tell me where would be good to go in doncaster for some mid twenties blokes tomorrow night.

I expect it to be rough, i expect people to be drunk and i expect it to be a bit blackpool like but that doesn't matter - we are going for a christmas drinking session as its somewhere we haven't been before.

what are the bars to go to
what is the best club/clubs to go to, what music etc
is there anywhere that is a known trouble hot spot (not just the whole of donny etc)
i'm with 2 cage fighters and a police officer so hopefully we should be ok lol smile

cheers

If you want somewhere different and slightly less dangerous.....why don't you try downtown Kabul. I hear it's 'kicking' on a weekend. biggrin

You WANT to come to doncaster on a night out?? Really?? Okay, well silver street has trilogy and a couple of other clubs, biscuit billys and shooters, other than that, there are 3 whetherspoons to choose from, but they are a bit away from silver street.

Hallgate
the goose pub(proper pub, does food etc) flares nightclub lakota bar and grill and the yorkshire grey.
At the top of hallgate, there is lazarus court which has some fancy eateries in, manana manana and some american burger type place.

Both silver street and hall gate are within a couple of minutes walk of each other. Lastly, if it looks rough as fk, then it is, and as long as you dont go looking for trouble, then you should be okay, unless your from rotherham, barnsley or sheffield, in which case, you are fked.

Sorry mate, but Trilogy closed it's doors middle of this year.

Now the only clubs in Doncaster are priory and coast to coast, both bloody garbage.

Best bet is start down silver street, La Baraca is usually relatively cheap, then move up to somewhere like Hogans, then Coco, then up to Che Bar. After that best bet is probably walkabout, moods or anywhere that looks remotely busy really.

Expect expensive drinks prices though, usually splashing out about £3.70 on a saturday for a bottle of beer.

Its usually good for a night out, lots of dubious looking girls and rather chavvy lads but never really seems to kick off. I havent been in a fight since ive been going out here and that is going on for 6 years now.

Oh and I will be out tomorrow night I should imagine, so you might see me knocking about.

Not been out there for a couple of years but every time I went before it was a cracking night, decent service in the bars and no hassle. Plenty of dried up old bags kicking around looking for fun too if that's your thing.

Just got back in from a night in Donny. Walkabout was so rammed you could barely breathe. It's pretty st, standard northern town fare, to be honest. Queues for taxi ranks were 30/40+ deep, but managed to walk into a black cab, so feeling quite pleased with myself.

a few from work went out last friday, i declined and went to mcr instead.

apparently the last one before xmas is known as 'mad friday' as you found out. i think this is to differentiate it from fighting thursday, slapper saturday and slagpants sunday.

Mate, tbh a night out with the local heedbangers does my head in. First question you get asked on entering so many of the pubs in town"what you looking at??" I drink at home now, i cant be bothered with them, their idiots

I'm only in town once every few weeks as, like you say, it can be irritating - anyway, my funds are better directed towards the mortgage (urgh), or the fund for saving for a Z4M/Exige/similar for next year, with luck. Beans on toast for 6 months should see me right! hehe

Definitely doesn't compare to Leeds as a night out, but I don't mind Doncaster, never really had any trouble on a night out before.

If i have to go into town for a night out, i go early and leave early, its better that way. Although i was told a sunday night was a good night out in town, most of the loonies are still pissed from friday and saturday

for what its worth yeah its a bit rough but its great fun and we were in no trouble at all. had a fantastic night, so much so we are going back again. girls really friendly and drink not expensive.

leeds is our normal night out but that's what we do most saturdays if not going anywhere for a road trip etc so bit sick of it etc.
