Anyone going for a drive over the moors after the Big Breakfast this year? I quite enjoy my lie ins so don't fancy getting up at the crack of dawn tomorrow, and I tagged along on one last time around and the rounds weren't busy. I'd offer to lead one but I've only been up to malton once so would definately get lost and wouldn't be able to find a suitable pub for some grub.

If I was going up on my own I would've loved to but there are about 5 of us and were off to cadwell after the meeting for some historic racing. Should be a good run from Malton. Tag on if you like?

Hmm I could do although Cadwell is nearly 2 and a half hours from my home! So probably not practical! I still haven't decided I'm 100% going tomorrow as I'm on my own and will feel a bit lonely!

Correct. Still in the Puma, but I'll not be with it a lot if I make it up there tomorrow as I'd imagine i.d be browsing the more impressive metal on show! E30 M3 for you? I'll keep my eye out.

Mark, didn't see your name on the list I take it you're still in the 928?

Locodude - I'll come and find you if I fancy the trip to cadwell - what time will you be leaving malton?

Yep, just need to fill up in the morning with the v power then set off.

The cars wet though so might need a quick wipe down. Wont be up early enough to wash it.

Need to charge the camera actually.

Maybe make some more space for videos on the phone as 3gb doesn't last long.

Just to warn you, the moor were very very very busy today. Traffic was slow and overtaking was pointless. Stay away from the main routes if you want a brisk blat.

Really? I experienced different, admitadly not that close to malton but I went over to Grassington today over the moors and had a reasonably clear run over, and a totally clear run back.

I was in Malton Morrisons at 8:45 this morning and the car park was 99% full then. When I left it took me 10 minutes to get from Morrisons to the A64/Helmsley road junction - traffic was solid. Helmsley was the same - traffic was queuing over the bridge.

There's a big country show at Duncombe this weekend so there is a lot of traffic coming down the TT, over from Thirsk, and Scarborough.

That said it was raining at Danby today and we had thunder in Helmsley about an hour ago so the rain may keep the traffic away. Still worth having a quiet back-up route in case the weather draws out the Sunday drivers though.

Probably around 11am I would imagine, it's over an hour to cadwell and we'd like to see plenty of racing if poss, leaving cadwell at about 5pm. It's all a bit flexible really. We'll be getting to Malton around 9am. See you there.

I fancy getting there nice and early this time, get some good video of people arriving.

Its a shame there are 2 entrances as you can only cover one at a time.

LOL, 'over an hour' is a bit of an understatement.

I was thinking about popping over today to watch the racing, but had a heavy night last night and there was no way I was fit to drive before midday.

Well it was over an hour, an hour and forty five minutes to be precise. which included a fuel stop and a detour into Beverley, so not too bad. Great day tho'!
