Hello Ph'ers of Old and new,

For those who know i've been living in Middlesbrough with Kat for the past 2 years whilst she did a degree extension on her sports therapy HND.

now its time to move back up the road,

Planning to buy a house but need to get up the road and sort out mortgage before going house hunting, so looks like sadly we will need to shack up with the parents for a month or so.

But as we will be bringing everything from our flat up the road,

does anyone know or can recommend a self storage place in Glasgow?

p.s can i still be the lone biker on the runs or will i have company?

I've seen that new place, you can't miss it if you take the slip road off the M8 for Port Dudas. PKLD tried to bring his bike last Sunday, but had to abort due to the weather. Good luck.

http://www.safestore.co.uk/storage/scotland/glasgo...

Used these guys in the past. They seem to have more locations these days.

Worked well and their rooms (in the Glasgow North one which I used) are nice and tall so you can fit more in that you might think.

Welcome back!

I've also used www.safestore.co.uk (Dixon Blazes site) a few years back and they were pretty good.

Cheers,
Mike.

We had a unit here at the start of the year, access was easy, and the service was good.

Make sure you decide on a size of unit required, then call for quotes from 3 different places (kangaroo, big yellow, etc). They all pledge to beat each others prices, and our end cost agreed on a monthly renewal basis was less than half the list price.
Speak directly to the manager at Safestore Dixon Blazes once you have a couple of quotes, and you should end up with the best deal.

Would massively recommend Len Lothian, Kinning Park. Best on price (I checked them all out) we have a few rooms in there and have done for 7 years now.

If you need container storage my mate Bill rents containers with 24 hour access and 100% security at Bargeddie. About £20 a week for a 20-footer. His number's 07833342593.

well i did as advised,

phoned safe store, wanted £30ish a week,

phoned len lothian who said £130 a month, but would do it half price for first 3months, then 15% discount rest of the time.

Called Kangaroo storage who offered £19 per week, along with pay 6 weeks, get 6 free.

Called Safestore (as location is better for me) who are matching it all!
so finally settled on £19 a week for 6 weeks, then 6 weeks free. (so pretty much £9.50 a week)

feel i did quite well!

Now just to finish packing so we can move back up the road!

p.s Glasgow tunnel run to welcome me back?

Well yeah until we get there and the Mrs goes "nah its too small"

at least they pretty much gave us the same deal on a 75 container, which was actually closer too 100.

so quite happy and i'm just left in middlesbrough just now with, Tv, bluray, Xbox and computer. Oh well back on Scottish soil on Friday.
