Morning all,

I have managed to destroy the sump plug thread on an aluminium sump. Does anyone know a decent metalwork / fabrication engineer in East Central Scotland where I can get the sump re-threaded and a new sump plug and washer fitted?

Thanks and all the best.

Martin.

Could you buy a new sump plug and Helicoil the sump to suit?

What type of car is it?

May just be cheaper to replace the sump and no more hassle as you'll need to remove it anyway.

I see, thought if it was something more everyday a second hand one would have more economical.

Steve Whiston Motorsport is in the Edinburgh area and has good machining/engineering contacts.
