No/no. Northern Irish, from Northern Ireland, home of the world's oldest distillery. We win, it's whiskey.

Not in Nairn, it ain't. You're on the cusp of the Spey Valley which is proper whisky country, not daft Irish stuff, so it's whisky.

Plenty of good roads around there.

A939 for a start.

There is also an interesting motor museum I believe along the road in Elgin.

I accept that you lot call it whisky but in return you must accept that we correctly call it whiskey.

Ah, this is good. I was in Nairn a couple of months ago, very much enjoyed the B9007 between Aviemore and Nairn, just wasn't that thrilled about Nairn itself.

B9007 and A939 make a nice wee loop via Grantown.

Lots of nice big empty beaches in the area too, though probably not sun-bathing weather!

Also have a look around Findhorn, nice wee village/bay with a great pub and good food.

Fort George is meant to be worth a visit and then there's dolphin watching in the Firth.

Nairn itself doesn't have that much to offer but there's plenty to do in the area.

I'm sure I spelt sassenach correctly. Clairt doesn't sound right when said in Norn Irish, clart reads better.

Cheers! biggrin

How are we for "safety" cameras on that loop?
