Just had my thread removed as its seen as advertising ????

I posted up that Porsche Club are having a concours event and invited people to come along to the event ? WTF !

Looks like lots of other events are posted up on here (italian car day for example that I have attended before) why are porsches being discriminated against ! :-(

The Club arent charging anything to attend - there is no financial gain for the club, just an event to get some like minded petrol heads together.

Cheers
Scott.

Trackdays get the same treatment.... it doesnt seem uniform. Sometimes you can be lucky and they allow it other not so lucky.

Hi Adam, seems strange - PCGB forum is the same - you get away with dates on that as well as here, most disappointed - was just trying to get some of the regulars on here to attend, i have let Gavin and David in FOC know about the event and Carlo (Mr Lambo) . we have quite a few morgans wishing to attend, you will see details on porsche forum,

cheers for now

I don't get it either, there really should be someone from the Scotland group moderating the Scotland page rather than someone who knows nothing about us deciding what we should or shouldn't know about. Quite annoying.

Why don't you ask?

Post a thread in website feedback for a response.

Scott, you have to jiggle it a bit to avoid PH Towers "moderation" - indeed very weird as this is the Scotland section and "events" of a piston interest related nature is what we're posting about you'd think that would be leeway... but hey that would be common sense, logical thing... but then again I gave up trying to fathom the logic of bored moderators many many moons ago rolleyes

Back to the matter at hand - PM me the details I'd be interested wavey

OTH you could add the event to the PH Ecosse Calender idea

Steve - who posted the Italian Day Attenders - was not connected with the Italian Day Organisation - just a PH attendee.
Like this one I started: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
seems that there is a way of doing things with the current rules.

Every thread of the nature of the one you've had removed is first discussed with Haymarket by way of a report sent in normally by a moderator as and when he comes across it.

As stated above if members had the courtesy to ask permission before posting up such a thread then there would be no reason to expect it to be removed.

The rules of posting are currently undergoing modification and will hopefully clarify the situation regarding this scenario.

HTH explain.

Will Haymarket make money from it?

If not the thread will be deleted

That's an exceedingly sceptical viewpoint..

It makes PH a carp place to find out what's on. For example, the Scottish Speedfair at KH wasn't mentioned on here. Things like that are of great interest to petrolheads in Scotland but might as well not be happening as far as this site is concerned.

Scotland is a big place with little car events going on but what does go on is normally cracking

I think that Doune is the best hill climb in the UK

If Haymarket are willing to let us push events it costs bugger all to Haymarket and you aren't stepping on the toes of any big companies

So I can't see why haymarket kills threads

So my cynical outlook will remain

Suggest you read my previous post regarding courtesy, join a website post up a thread and wonder why it get removed?

Enough please......

As posted above.......and previously.... its easier to work with the mods - or use a bit of guile - to alert other Scottish PHers to good events. cool

Didn't know you frequented these parts Al. hehe

Pity you couldn't make it on Saturday, hopefully you're on the mend.

Spot on. Garlick told, us and explained how, you can post an event the last time this was mentioned. I've had things deleted, but understand it's not my forum so I have to live with it. When I've asked for help from a Mod', I've received it. I personally don't see the problem?
