Speed Awareness Course, anyone?????

Has anyone been offered or undertaken one of the Speed Awareness Courses offered instead of points and a fine?? I've never heard of anyone being offered one North of the Border??

Is there a reason for this?? Do Scottish Police Forces need the money that much??

I did a course in Glasgow for an offence instead of points. CAn't remember if it was speed i was going to be done for...

edit: this was four years ago so may have changed. there were certainly people there for speeding.
cost 180quid IIRC.

I'm aware of someone who did a speed awareness course for busting the old A80 average speed cameras past Cumbernauld.
