I am considering getting my car re-mapped, but am not sure who to go to as there are so many people offering this type of service.

I am based in Glasgow & don't really want to travel very far so any local recommendations would be apprciated.

I have alreay spoken to Powertune:

http://www.power-tune.net/

Seen some good & bad reviews of them. Has anyone any first hand experience of them?

The car I am looing to remap is nothing special, just a VAG 2.0 diesel.

Might seem a silly question - but why are you remapping?
Economy? Power? Torque?

A desperate need to increase your insurance costs?

I want to get rid of the complete lack of power below 1500 rpm & make the power delivery smoother.

Have you found a map that works below 1500rpm - generally any impact is mid range or above. I would try to get dyno graphs from your potential tuners to see if their map works down there.
