Saw a cracker of a near miss this morning.

Black focus being driven like it was stolen on the Tarland road. Not the first time I’ve been overtaken on the commute by this car and not the first time I’ve wondered why the driver thinks 80-85 is a reasonable speed on a B road at peak time. rolleyes

So anyway, they tailgate me through a village and finally blast past on the first available straight only to immediately catch up with a knot of traffic ahead. For some reason, they fail to spot what everyone else has clearly seen, and without lifting tries to blast past this group too. Of course the group is actually slowing down and the Focus has to emergency stop then cut into a non-existent space between the rearmost two cars being overtaken, causing them to hammer the brakes on too.

The reason why the pack was slowing? Because the marked police car at the front of the three car pack was turning right. I’ll bet the Focus driver got a shock. Didn’t slow down though (probably wise under the circumstances though... wink )

Oh, and in case the driver is on here and reading this – give it a rest, you plum. It’s not big and it’s not clever – I was two cars behind you at Westhill. Really worth it. It’s a diesel Focus not a WRC car. You keep driving like that and you’ll be upside down in a field by the end of the year. Hopefully you won’t take anyone else with you.

Had a similarly good one on Sunday morning. Heading up the M80, just before the M876 cut off and it's absolutely teaming with rain, visibility was about 40ft.

Next thing you know there's brake lights in lane 1 and lane 3 so i slow down and through the rain appears this classic shaped Scooby side ways across the 3 lanes. I broke and stuck the hazards on so he had room to get clear quickly.

He turns the 90* back to the road into lane 3 and i pass in lane 1, look back to make sure he's got away alright and nobody's pranged into him and he overtakes me accelerating at full pelt.

I really don't understand how you could go through something like that and then not have the sense to take it easy. Absolute nugget.

Apologies to any decent Subaru owners here but a LOT of Imprezas are driven by complete tools these days...
