I have 2 weeks to sell my car. I really want to get a fair price for it.Problem is the tax is out on it so it cannot be taken for test drives. What are the best ways to go about this?

Tax it for six months and add it to the price of the car or cash it back in.

Simple.

Sorry my question wasn't clear. I am looking for the best websites to advertise my car with the hope of selling it to a garage.
Taxing the car isn't an option because I would have to send application to Swansea to change my current address registered to the car and I only have 2 weeks left in Scotland. I hope to sell it directly to a garage they can pick it up & in turn sell it off.

Sadly you are not in a position of strength!

The only way to sell a car that you can't let people see in motion is at auction.
Put it in with a reserve at what WBAC offered you and if it does not beat that then its not worth any more.

Just take your documents to the post office.

You probably need to accept you are the desperate seller, anything over WBAC offered is a bonus.
If not then you are not that desperate and can accept not selling it before you leave.

Otherwise the scrappy will give you up to £100 evil

@ hidetheelephants-> I dont have faith that it will be sent back in time
@ sportslibre-> that maybe what you would do but, to me that seems kind of dimwitted.

I'm not following; take V5, insurance and MoT certificate to the PO and fork over £118.25. There is no postage or waiting involved; you get the tax disc there and then. The PO drone won't care if your insurance cert has a different address to the V5, it's of no interest to them, assuming they even notice; they are only interested in you having valid insurance and MoT.

I doubt you'll get what you want for it in such a short period of time, you should take some of the advise above or you won't even get a sale.

Nah they tend to check it all matches these days.

If you go in and explain they may tax it for you and then send off the form for your new address and you'll get the new V5 through whenever.

Take it to an auction and hope for the best?

Friends of mine did that before they emigrated to Canada. It was their last resort as they had tried all other means.

Did their final offer match the original online quote? I've heard many a story where the actual price offered can be much less upon inspection.
