Folks, posting this hear as I know about the Italian car/bike day ealier in the year and hope that PHers who attended can advise what the parking's like at Hopetoun House.

We've got tickets for the fireworks display this Saturday but don't want to arrive and a) be stuck in a fecking massive queue of traffic, or b) get my car stuck in a muddy field and cause a fecking massive queue of traffic biggrin

So, if the parking suitable for a car with ground-skimming tendencies? Will I embarrass myself if I turn up in the Z4 (from a clearance POV - I'm resigned to being embarrassed in that car regardless).

Cheers.

The parking when I was last at Hopetoun House was suitable for my car although the grassy field was a bit lumpy. The grass was quite long as well so you wont have a problem with a muddy field. I just took it slowly. The scariest bit was when I got directed over the bridge in the middle of the field which had about an inch of clearance either side. eek. You should be fine and the roads shouldn't be too bad traffic wise.

This year the parking was in the middle so no bridges to cross, immensley better.

Best call the organisers direct and see where they are planning to put you all.

If anyone else is thinking of going, be quick with getting your tickets. Mine are serial numbered 849 and 850, there were 34 left in the Hopetoun House shop at 1500hrs today.

Cracking display on Saturday night. Thought the parking and general traffic directing was very well done but would've been fine venturing onto the grass with the Z4.

Spotted a white mk2 Audi TT with a GB/PH sticker on the back parked up - anyone on here?

Sure it wasn't a Panda? wink

I thought the traffic pointers made the best of what they had but the place.is wholly unsuitable for such a big crowd. I queued for one hour and fifteen minutes for the hogroast... and was left with the stty bits at the end. I live 3.8 miles away, I took 45 mins to drive there and the same to get home.

Good display though!

I was looking out for Panda's wink

We travelled in from Falkirk and had a queue-free run in via Newton - we did arrive around 5pm though. Our mates travelling in from Kirkliston abandoned their car in SQ and walked in though as the queues were horrific. Afterwards I was sitting with a pint in the Hawes Inn by 7pm smile
