Scottish Stag Party for Petrolhead
Discussion
Hi Guys
I'm looking to organise a stag party in scotland in April this year and am looking for any ideas you have for a proper petrolheads theme.
We're 40 now so we're done the weekends away getting pissed,
etc, etc. Looking for something a little bit more grown up now!!!
Planning 2 parts to the event: Head up from the South around Tuesday / Wednesday with a small group and basing ourselves around somewhere like Fort William for a few days driving fun. We should be in a nice convey of cars - GT3, Vantage, Boxster, etc. Any recommendations for must-drive routes greatly appreciated
On Friday, enjoy a final blast and then head into Edinburgh (probably?) for the weekend where the non-petrolheads will join us. Would quite like a general petrol based theme for the saturday if possible - off road karts? / rally school / etc, etc. Any ideas and recommendations?
And finally, the Friday and Saturday nights. Any good recommendations for great food, comedy and places with a good atmosphere (for 40 year olds.....) all gladly received.
I've asked lots of questions there but hope thats ok and look forward to hearing your suggestions and enjoying some fantastic Scottish hospitality in a few months time!
Cheers!
Marc

If you are interested in the Karting, contact me directly on 0131 3330304 and can also give you ideas on evening suggestions
www.xtremekarting.co.uk Cheers Scott Understand you're saying it's not a heavy drinking one, but to sample some of the best whisky, try www.smws.com -it is a members only thing, however if you call them in advance they may well put you up! The food is spot on as well, for atmosphere head to the vaults in Leith.

Marc - I would avoid being based in Fort William for a driving adventure as its a real bottle neck - the roads from Glasgow to Skye are epic - except the 15 miles around Fort William where all the caravans and motorhomes stack up and the road is double solid lines so you cant even overtake. There are many alternatives for a driving base with decent accomodation and access to PH Roads.
Try Ballachulish, Torridon, Callander or Loch Lomond as bases and we can suggest some day routes.

Thanks for the Fort William tip.Would I be correct to presume from a few initial searches that there will be a good selection of accomodation around Loch Lomond and it is well situated for easy access to a number of diferent routes?
All suggestions for routes gratefully received!
Cheers

The lodges at Cameron House house look pretty special and would be great for a small group of us.
