Sorry to post this again beyond the pothole thread but hope someone nice Ph'r can help??

My no 1 daughter was driving north on the A9 about 1.8 miles south of Aberuthven in the outside lane on 15th december when she hit a pothole covered in water casuing quite a bit of damage to her car
There were motorway maintenance vehicles parked nearby but this could be unconnected
Had anyone spotted this pothoile before?
Reported it?
Any help would be appreciated
Am pursing a claim for the damage as Dads repair service footed the large bill!!

The A9 is cart track in places especially heading south past Aviemore. I think Transerv are responsible for the maintenace on the A9 so it might be worth calling them and asking if any potholes have been reported on this stretch. Compo is not strait forward as you have to prove they had time to repair the pothole (obviously someone needs to report it first) and that it was this pothole that did damage your daughters car (dated photos at the scene, measurements of potholes and invoices for the damage)

I travel from Bridge of Allan to Perth every day and reported that section on the same week your daughter had her 'issues'. The road is maintained by Bear Scotland and so you should phone them and ask for a claim form. I had a near blowout(huge sidewall bulge) from a pothole last year and eventually managed to get the money back from them.

There's a story in this week's Strathy, but doesn't appear to be on their website yet. This one about a pothole near Dalmagrry north of Tomatin. Fair few cars mangled by it apparently.

Not sure if this will be of any help as I cant remember the exact date but I do know that the A9 between the WWTW and the speed camera at Whitemoss golf course was down to 1 lane after several cars were damaged by potholes in this area.

Also iirc these potholes had been marked with yellow paint as if they were awaiting repair. I'll try to check back and see what I was doing on the day in question so I can confirm what I said above.

when I was going up one morning there a BMW 5 series and something else on the back of a lowloader - both looked like they had severe suspension damage. There are (were) 3-4 'pink' sections of road and they were becoming progressively more 'holey' as the time was going on(inside lane only), so I phoned and reported it. A few days later the inside lane was coned and there was some big resurfacing work on these sections.

I think this was the same incident I referred to above. As I went past the BM was being loaded onto the wrecker and the police and BEAR Scotland had the inside lane closed but unfortunately for Paul I don't think it was the 15th of December after checking my running sheet at work.frown
