Thought I’d share this.

Anyone who’s been to Raceland, just outside of Edinburgh, for their outdoor karting knows it’s light years ahead of any other karting place around the Central Belt. Tons of fun.

They're doing a discounted endurance race night on Thursday 9th.

6:30pm start, teams of two drivers. 30 mins practice & quali, followed by 90 mins straight racing. £75 per pair of drivers. Bargain.

Indoor/outdoor?

Can't see the details on the webpage, got a direct link?

I'd be up for that, last endurance race was awesome fun.

I don't imagine an endurance race being run outdoors at night... in February... In Scotland...

Happy to be proven wrong though! biggrin

Raceland is a 500,000sqft amenity, that includes; A 930 metre fully-floodlit outdoor karting circuit (the longest in Scotland at over 60secs/lap) - a 300 metre tarmac indoor circuit with over/under bridge

Actually, that’s a good question. I’d just assumed outdoor, if it’s inside then I’m not so interested. I’ve done winter enduro races there outdoors before, and they’ve been awesome fun. The circuit’s floodlit at night.

The offer came through by email this morning, accompanied by a photo of the outdoor circuit, y’see.

Says to phone them for details.

Ollie, if you’re up for giving me a lift over then I’m up for entering as a PH team. My car’s still in pieces at Motortune and public transport goes nowhere near Raceland.

Ah, who needs to be able to be dry... Or have the use of their fingers?!

That'd make me third wheel, though -- anyone else interested..?

AJM has money to burn according to his insurance thread...

Bit random since I don't actually know any of you guys, but if it's on the outdoor circuit, and if you needed an extra person to make up the numbers for a team of 2, I'd be up for it! I got the Raceland email as well (done their outdoor track 2 or 3 times) but none of my friends in the local area are that interested in karting, so I only tend to go when I have mates from down South visiting. Can give someone a lift from Edinburgh area if need be. If it's on the indoor circuit then not really interested though.

Cheers,

Eric

Should be the outdoor, all the past few endurance races have been there and they're building up for a 24 hour in May. Should be doing this with a mate, maybe see some of you there tongue out

Shall we formalise interest?

AJM has already offered my services as a taxi as well, so I can take a few over (Tony?) if need be.

Let's have it!

I can always duck out of work early to be sure of making it over there in time.

Theoretically, might even be able to take one of the company cars over if lifts get awkward. (Scooby, if I’m lucky.)

It looks like I've already found myself a likely teammate through the magic of PH:

I'll be acting as a back-marker by the looks of things... my only karting victory was in the rain, against considerably heavier looking opposition...

Mark and his mate will be leaving us all standing anyway … I’m happy to enjoy a fight to just not be last!
