Tried to search but it never seems to work. Anyone had experience using The Wash Bay in Aberdeen? Worth it? Reasonable?

Or any better suggestions welcome too. I don't want the whole hog detailing session so the likes of Polished Bliss are out, I can't justify the cost given the value of the car.

Had the Jag done a couple of times.

Cost about £80 a time.

Nice and clean, finshed when they said it would be.

Only take cash or cheque, no cards.

Aberdeen Auto Valet

a little hidden gem in Tullos. a bit hard to find, but the guy is very cheap for a hand wash or a full valet.

he does stirling work (Aberdeen Audi use him and they are pretty picky), just off of greenbank road, down the side of the cammach group building.

I may be way wide of the mark here, but if you're looking for a decent wash, polish and hoover the boys on the 2nd level of Union Square always do an acceptable job for me for not much over £20.

Got this done once, wasn't impressed at all TBH. Seemed like a rushed job.

Centre where I live is £16 full-valet and they do an incredible job.

Thanks all, appreciate it.

The rationale for picking the Wash Bay was cos I could (fairly) easily drop the car off before work as I'm not too far away from them, Altens would be a hassle but I'll look the guy there up.

I had heard mixed reports about the Union Square mob, did look at their price list and thought it was a bit much for what it is, particularly given the mixed reports.

If you're looking for just a basic valet then the washbay is probably you're best bet,I'd give the union square style ones a swerve though :-)

Oops, walls have ears eh smile

Thanks PB, as I said I would have come to you guys had the car been "good" enough to justify the cost but it's not. I'm still using some of the products I bought from you when I get a rare chance to wash it myself tho smile

I've used the folk that are set up in Dobbies car park on Langstracht a couple of times. Half the price of the Union Square guys from the sounds of it, and I've been more than happy with the results.

They only take 20minutes (albeit first thing in the morning) so by the time you buy some lunch or a coffee, the car should be done. Nice cheap and cheerful set up.

All the guys in my office have used them too and I've not heard any complaints?

Agreed, they made a horrendous job on the GF's mini.

one of the guys that runs the wash bay is a mate of my boss, met him a good few times, is a nice guy and not the con man type, can't say anything for the standard of his workers but my boss had his car done a few times and he way happy with it

washbay do a range of cars from genaral runarounds to prestige type vehicles - I've had some A-glaze treatment in the past with good results. they seem to take care with customers cars as if they were there own - worth trying once to make you're own mind up.

Robert that ran this sold out at the end of last year, he now works out of the packaging place on cotton street opposite PHD, he always does a fantastic job and his banter is good too.

Highly recommended, used him when I worked in tullos every week during winter months
