All,

Within central Scotland which scrap yards do you use?

Birnams are quite good if you're looking to get rid of a car. They can be alright for parts, depending on who you speak to.

There are a couple in coatbridge who are decent enough for parts.

Border Autos down in Greenlaw near Kelso,
Can't remember the names, but there's one in Dumbarton and another one at the back of Ibrox in Glasgow that I've used from time to time.

I remember about thirty years ago wandering around this scrappy looking for a few parts to keep my old Cooper S on the road. They actually had E Type Jags stacked on top of each other and various Astons, Bentleys and assorted interesting old sportscars lying around the yard just rotting away.

Every part I ever bought from there was either 50p or a pound and I once climbed to the top of a very wobbly four car stack to liberate a chrome handbrake lever from what I think was the remains of an Aston DB6 but could well have been a DB5. Unfortunately I could not get it to fit my Mini.
