Hi, i bought a DE Walt polisher about 10 years ago, and it has lay on the shelf since. I kept getting told horror stories of polishing through to the metal!

I've looked on You Tube, and there is plenty of guides there, but i still dont feel confident. Is there anyone, preferably in the Falkirk area, that could give me some basic hands on tuition? Any help or advice would be great. I'm now finding the more i read, the more confused i'm getting.

Cheers

Gordon

Check your work often!

I went through the clear coat of my 6 week old Range, that taught me a costly lesson. rolleyes

Yeah, that's what i'm worried about. I don't know my cutting compounds from my elbow, so to speak. And, it wouldn't be the first time i've made a good thing bad, by trying to make make it better!

Cheers

get plenty of practice on old panels before attempting to start on your pride and joy.

I know that gordon from defined details runs machine polishing classes, it may be worth while considering signing up for one, much cheaper than paying for a respray because you've buffed too hard hahah.

Here's an example of him at work

Thanks amccan. Funny enough, i found out about Gordons class on Detailing World just before you posted. I'm hopefully going to attend sometime in July.

Thanks for the reply

I got great results with my Porter Cable, my mistake was buying a fixed head Metabo, straight down to the bone in a minute or two.
