How do you describe PH runs to non PHers?
Discussion
Finding this quite a lot in business / social environments when you're chatting away, getting to know someone. Inevitably the subject of cars arises. I struggle to shorten my sentences when explaining 'PH runs'
"Every other month I meet up with gentlemen enthusiasts, where we travel round different parts of Scotland, giving our cars beans. There's always a great selection of cars from Corsas to Ferraris. We usually go for lunch. It's a great community............"
I loath to use the 'car club' thing because at my age they think "this wee fud hangs about underground carparks at night with max power mongs and his Saxo"
How do you explain it?

A diverse group of nice people some with interesting cars who appreciate: cars;driving; company; our countryside and food who get together to enjoy them all!
To emphasise how humble we all are, you should mention that we allow porker cars and drivers to come along!
Hope this helps?

Yeah difficult one, the words "car club" say "ned" and "car enthusiasts" say "beard".
Just say you meet up with some guys with some seriously nice cars every now and again and go for a drive.
Sorry to disagree and to correct this. The runs are open to anyone driving any non Nissan f"""""G micra! Having started these runs up here, It is important that they are not thought to just be supercars and exclude others. EVERYONE is welcome if you enjoy cars and are a nice person! Just say you meet up with some guys with some seriously nice cars every now and again and go for a drive.
Ollie...........i dispair! lol

If they are remotely interested in cars, explain away by saying it is like finding yourself in the middle of the mother of all car magazine grouptests.
Even better (and far easier for the non-PH types) send them a link to any one of Baz's PH Ecosse videos on youtube...
I'm suffering PH run withdrawal - next run please??!

One man's hobby is another man's mental illness. How do you explain it?
Find out what hobby they have, find out how much they spend per year on this hobby, and how much time it takes up, and then hit them with "And you put the f
king fish back ? You don't take them home for supper ? What the f
k point is that? You could buy fish at the supermarket and I don't have to spend all day in the rain, and how much was your £1000 carbon rod (oh er) ? " Gassing Station | Scotland | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
