3 days into the ownership of our new Skoda Yeti and some A**hole has put a door ding in the middle of the front passenger door! Any recomendations for a dentsmith in the Edinburgh area?

Same boat here G. My X5, someone drove off, leaving the front right needing work done to it which I will need to pay for myself!

Was rear 1/4 panel for me, took him seconds to remove trim and fix, think it cost £40ish but that was in 2007.

And we just had a towbar put through the front bumper of the ML. Drove off leaving a gaping hole!

It is threads like these that remind me why I am happy to run around in a snotter.

Out of curiosity what Yeti did you go for? What's your thoughts on it?

We traded the Mk1 Freelander` for a 1.8 petrol Yeti Elegance 4x4 and its stunning, soo quiet and roomy, good acceleration and all the whistles and bells work as well. Its really my wife's car but I'm driving it more than my Audi S4 so that must tell you something. It feels really solid, the doors close with a suitable sound, the shut lines are perfect, In short it's a wee cracker and I am really impressed. I will have to wait until October to see what its like offroad but by all accounts its bloody good at that as well.

Maybe thats why there is still a 6 month waiting list on them.

Used Dent Devils too, down south about the same time as Ave, with excellent results.

However, I believe it's a franchise rather than a company with employees, so your mileage may vary.

(that's not to say that a franchise might not have rules about quality, training and so on, I simply don't know)

I hired one from Aberdeen down to Edinburgh, couple of days driving round and then back to Aberdeen. That fecker drank like a Viking! I couldn't believe the poor mpg and although liking the car, the fuel consumption would put me off.

Sorry to hear about the damage though. We had the back door of the ML badly dented and the rear light cracked by someone in Ikea carpark outside the bypass. Obviously a pile of timber in a trolley got away from them. Utter s!
