Anyone see the Typhoon flying alongside the M8 yesterday?
Discussion
Travelling westbound yesterday about 1215, between junctions 2 and 3, I saw a plane coming eastbound. Very slow, very low, it didn't look like a passenger jet coming in to Edinburgh airport. As it got closer I could see it was only a bloomin' Typhoon!
Not really sure what it was up to, I've never seen a RAF jet fly so slowly, I reckon it would only have been marginally faster than the eastbound traffic.

Traffic must have been moving much faster than it does in the morning as the minimum speed for a Typhoon is 203kph (126 mph). Pretty slow though and it must have been quite a sight :-)

Well, from my observations, traffic regularly seems to do around the 85-ish mark along there, 40mph isn't really a huge difference. In any case, 126mph is very slow for that machine, it certainly wasn't in a hurry. http://www.fighter-planes.com/info/eurofighter_ef2...

Yeah, I saw it, I was in the esso station just at the roundabout along from Ingliston.
Heard it before I saw it, looked pretty inpressive!
In stark contrast, I heard fook all, except a dull roar when it went by me. Maybe my diesel engine...Heard it before I saw it, looked pretty inpressive!
I've seen them in full chat before, deeply impressive, but there was something very menacing about it going so slowly.
