Well it finally happened

Van is regularly filming on the A697 - On Soutra, halfway up southside catching northbound or top of northside catching southbound and also in the dip in the middle catching southbound.
Also a mile south of Greenlaw caatching northbound and just north of Pathhead (Stair Arms layby)catching southbound and Clock Lodge straight catching southbound, are a few other regular traps.

I often sit at 60 in the van as a courtesy to everyone behind me - especially going up the A9, where 50mph brings out all the suicidal overtake nutters behind you. Have passed traffic cars, camera vans and the like all over the shop with no sign of a ticket for years.
Passed one doing bang on 60 at Kingussie last night - if this results in a ticket from the NSCP (it'd be my first ever) then it'll be 50 on the dot from now on, and f
k 'em if an accident happens behind me because of some impatient photocopier salesman on a mission.
As an aside, 19:25 on a Sunday night in the middle of the Highlands. Have these useless twunts got nothing better to do than sit in a layby nursing a semi over a laser gun?

My folks live in Kelso and as mentioned above it seems that Soutra Hill is a regular spot as my mum said she'd seem them there often. Shamefully, I didn't even spot them van. Hopefully my insurance won't go up too much. Will find out today as I've just got the points back.
Do they run speed awareness courses in Scotland?
Do they run speed awareness courses in Scotland?
no - speed awareness is an English thing only and even then only in some counties.
Soutra is famous for speed camera vans, but they are normally very obvious. Even then they tend to only bother during working hours.
There used to be a website that showed you where they intended to be over the week.
