What is rule for exhaust being attached to car?
Bracket broke on back box on Daughters car temp fix using cable ties asked garage if they could fix/fit bracket to get it through MOT
New back box £200 thank you
Could get cheaper elsewhere but car has "free" MOT as part of warranty so to take out of garage and go elsewhere got to pay for MOT and find somewhere to do it as MOT due tomorow
Catch 22
I feel shafted

Depending how good/bad a condition the back box is in get some one to weld a new Bracket to it? Would cost much less than £200.
If you are in Ayrshire and can wait until the weekend when i get home i would have a bash at it. I have a ramp and mig in my Garage.

I guess it depends on the testers view of whether the exhaust is "adequately supported": http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_710.htm
Stainless ties might be a better bet if you have any - or big jubilee clips etc.
